RiverArts 2021 Annual Holiday Show & Sale

RiverArts Annual Holiday Show is a great place to find wonderful handmade gifts crafted by our talented artisans. With price points to fit every budget, come by the gallery to find the perfect gift and support both the arts and artists in our community.

●       Submission Deadline: Friday, November 12

●       Drop Off (by appointment): Sunday, November 14 and Monday, November 15     

●       Pick Up (by appointment): Sunday, January 2, 2022, Sunday January 3, 2022

The Holiday Show and Sale is a great opportunity for artists to increase their exposure as well as sell their work. We welcome artists work in all mediums.

Past experience has shown that items priced under $100 sell best, but higher priced work is always welcome! We get many buyers looking to treat themselves. 

RiverArts does remind artists that this is an art show as much as a sales opportunity. We seek the high quality, innovative and fresh work that our members are known for.

Popular and asked for items: Local and seasonally themed items, gifts for men, children, and pet accessories. Unique, hand crafted, household items also sell well.

Registration Fee: $20

Please read all guidelines and the artists’ agreement completely before submitting work. By submitting work, artists agree to the terms set out in the agreement and must follow all guidelines.

  • Artists must be RiverArts members in good standing. Not a member? Click here to join or renew your membership.
  • Artists may submit up to 30 small items or 3 large items. (For this show, diptychs or triptychs will be counted as individual items, not as one submission.
  • We suggest artists package small items into sets, such as cards, or coasters. Each packaged set will count as 1 item.
  • All work must be original and professionally presented.
  •  Art to be hung on walls should be dry and securely wired for hanging. Works on paper should be framed behind glass or plexiglass. Unframed works of fine art, e.g. paintings on canvas, are accepted if appropriately wired for hanging.
  • Works of art requiring special or unusual display structures should be pre-approved by the Holiday Show committee and submitted along with the structure for display.
  • Acceptance of work is at the sole discretion of the Holiday Show committee. We reserve the right to refuse work for any reason
  • All items submitted must be clearly identified and marked following the pricing guidelines.

Pricing Guidelines.

  • All items must be tagged in a professional manner on removable hang tags, stickers or clearly marked on one side of larger tags, with the following information:
  • The Artist ID in CAPS and the number of the item starting with #4001 (The artist’s ID is comprised of 4 initials - the first initial of artist’s first name and the first three initials of artist’s last name) 
  • The item’s price
  • Pricing examples: Joan Smith’s first item would be marked with her artist ID and item number “JSMI-4001”, along with the item’s price. Her second item would be marked with her artist’s ID and the item number “JSMI-4002”, along with the item’s price. 
  • All items in the show may be purchased and delivered to the buyer at the time of purchase. You will be notified if we wish you to replenish your inventory.

All artists MUST pre-register to participate in the show, via the online registration. We will not accept in person registrations. If you need help with your registration or a copy of the consignment form, please contact suewilson@chestertownriverarts.org.

Upon completion of the online registration, you will receive a confirmation of your registration via email with a link to the consignment form. If you don't see a confirmation, check your spam folder. We will also contact you to make an appointment time to drop off you work. Work will only be accepted at prescheduled appointment times. We cannot accept work from artists without an appointment or outside their scheduled appointment time.

By submitting work, you acknowledge that you have read the above guidelines and agreement and agree to all the terms therein.
