Writer Allison Blake is the author of Explorer's Guide Baltimore, Annapolis, & The Chesapeake Bay (as well as the author of its previous editions, published under the title The Chesapeake Bay Book), and Maryland Curiosities. Her credits include National Geographic Traveler, the Boston Globe, the Washington Post, Chesapeake Bay Magazine, and Baltimore Magazine. The former journalist interviewed dozens of people, from a Caribbean-born pig intelligence scientist at a large midwestern university to a New Orleans HVAC guy, for a series of career books for young people.
