Arleen Keifetz

Artist Bio

Arleen E. Keifetz, after retiring, relocated to Galena, MD from Long Island, NY. Her relationship with the Chestertown Art League (prior to RiverArts) began in 2003 fulling a longtime desire to be involved with an art gallery. Art in many forms has surrounded Arleen all of her life. But it wasn’t until an overflowing box of beads and beading supplies was given to Arleen, that this art form took hold. Self taught, Arleen is inspired by the different textures, forms and colors of beads and chooses both vintage and semi precious stone beads and sterling silver and gold filled findings. Auctions and house sales provide much of her materials to redesign and create “new” one of a kind pieces.

The RA Clay Studio is where Arleen has taken several hand building classes and enjoys making functional and decorative one of a kind pieces.

Just a note: These images on the slideshow above are meant to give you an impression of the artist's style -- some are work on sale, others are examples of past work. Our apologies -- a technical problem occasionally causes the slideshow images to display the work oddly cropped.
