Welcome to the RiverArts Salon, lively conversations whether we're physically distanced or gathered together. Salons are a forum for exchanging thoughts and ideas that go a little bit deeper than small talk and give us all something new and interesting to consider. They nudge us toward closer community connections and increased understanding and are always a chance to have some fun with our creative community.
Tuesdays from 5 - 5:45 -- usually on Zoom, but this summer we're hitting the road for some Salon Field Trips.
Join us for a Salon Field Trip! Bring a chair to 207 S. Cross Street in Chestertown for a good look at the El Trompo mural and good conversation with the folks who made it happen.
El Trompo, Recuerdos de mi patria (The Top, Memories of my homeland) was designed and painted by Fredy Granillo with assistance from Vanna Ramirez. The mural was commissioned by Roberto and Pamela Ortiz and Robert Ortiz Studios with additional funding by the Kent Cultural Alliance, the Chestertown Arts and Entertainment District, the Social Action Committee for Racial Justice, Rob and Deb Glebe, and two anonymous friends.
Feel free to bring snacks or beverages, and remember to bring a chair!
