Mar 10 - 31 - Acrylics: 4 Paintings in 4 Weeks

Thursdays, March 10, 17, 24, & 31, 1-3 pm

At ArtsAlive, 200 High St in downtown Chestertown, MD (corner of High & Queen Streets, next to Clay Studio) -- or outside if the weather is nice!

Recently I completed four paintings over a weekend. I didn’t create four paintings, I just finished them. Over time my use of acrylics has changed to involve textures, layering, preparing backgrounds, different types of paint and different tools. As each stage is completed it needs to dry before moving on to the next and sometimes the painting evolves from the original idea into something quite different as the paint dries. Initially, having started one painting, I still had the urge to create so moved onto the next canvas. This was how the idea for the class was born. Over the four weeks you will be able to create four different paintings and watch them take shape week on week. All you need to bring is an old plate to use as a palette, everything else will be provided, including brushes, paints, and canvases in different sizes. Of course, if you have a favorite brush or two, bring them with you. I look forward to seeing you.
