RiverArts Gallery Rental

Why rent our space?

• RiverArts is a beautiful gallery with a First Friday attendance of approximately 400-500 folks.  
• RiverArts takes a low commission of 35%. Your rental fee goes toward the 35% commission.
• The RiverArts gallery is open to the public and staffed on Wednesday-Sunday.
• RiverArts provides announcements for upcoming artist exhibitions on the RiverArts website, email notifications to its membership and other arts organizations, and a press release to local and regional print and online press. 

Policies

• Rentals are granted on a first come first served basis
• Artists are responsible for their own set up and break down.
• Setup may not obstruct the doors or views into any RiverArts facilities
• The Executive Director is the monitor and supervisor for this privilege to sell in this space
• Artists found not in compliance with these policies will not be allowed to book subsequent table rentals

Artist’s Agreement

• Artists renting a space are entering into a contract with Chestertown RiverArts and agreeing to all the terms in this agreement
• Artists must be a current RiverArts member to participate
• Artists must pay rental fee per day, payment must be made at the time of registration
• All work displayed must be for sale
• RiverArts will handle the sale of all works and collect a 35% commission from all sales
• Artists agree to grant Chestertown RiverArts permission to use images of work for promotional purposes, online and in print, at RiverArts' discretion
• At the end of the rental period, artists agree to take all unsold work and materials with them. RiverArts does not have adequate space to safely store and protect art.
• Artists must submit a W-9 form to Chestertown RiverArts in the event they receive $600 or more per calendar year in artist payments
• Liability: The Artist agrees to hold RiverArts and its employees free from any liability or claim for damages or suit for or by reason of any injuries to any person or property of any kind whatsoever, from any cause whatsoever, arising out of the use and occupation of the premises by the renting party; and the renting party hereby covenants and agrees to indemnify Chestertown RiverArts from all liability or damage on account of or by reason of any such injuries or damage.
