Artist
After graduating from MICA in Baltimore in 1978, my art degree took a back seat to other life pursuits for quite a while. I continued to make art during that time and studied with other artists but had no time to create a body of work. Very recently relocated to Chestertown, I now have a new studio for making my oil paintings and linocut prints. A long time gardener/farmer/environmentalist, my work is inspired by those several subjects, and includes a recent series of prints which is comprised of twelve local native birds. My work is representational and my goal is to stir both recognition and action in the viewer.
Yes, that's a bird, maybe one you have seen, or maybe one that you miss seeing and how does that affect you?
I sell my artwork through RiverArts, here in Chestertown, MD, Unity Nursery, in Church Hill, MD, The Treasure Chest, in Oxford, MD, Gallery 37, in Milford, DE, and my prints are available online through the website of Out of the Fire Restaurant in Easton, MD. My husband Paul, a studio potter, and I are planning to open our joint gallery/studio space to the public for open studios and studio tours as soon as that seems safe.
Just a note: These images on the slideshow above are meant to give you an impression of the artist's style -- some are work on sale, others are examples of past work. Our apologies -- a technical problem occasionally causes the slideshow images to display the work oddly cropped.
