Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we continue to respond to changing conditions.
The class will be held at the Clay Studio from 6 - 8:30 pm on Wednesdays, running from June 1st through July 6th. (6 weeks)
This course introduces basic pottery wheel techniques to beginning students with a focus on throwing bowl and cylinder forms. Students will be shown the step-by-step process of wedging, centering, throwing, trimming, and glazing clay into finished pieces. Class time and the encouraged Open Studio practice time will enable students to create at their own level and improve their skills with clay.
Included with instruction is twenty-five pounds of cone 6 clay and six Open Studio tickets. If you need a basic pottery toolkit, they are available for purchase in class for an additional $30.
Clay Studio wheel programs are intended for persons aged 16 or older. Please email the Studio manager Chris at chrisneiman@chestertownriverarts.org with any questions.
