March 26: Kintsugi with Lauren Burnett

Sunday, March 26, 2023 1pm- 4pm

Cost: $40

Everything broken is new again when it comes to the Japanese art of kintsugi and in this class, you can learn how to make mending beautiful. In this beginner’s class, you will learn how to repair broken vases, plates, bowls, and statues by fusing broken ceramics with gold. You will also learn about the philosophy and the process. You will repair and fuse a broken object of your choice and make it an artistic expression of rebirth. Please bring at least 1 but no more than 4 pieces to repair. Also note that pottery fixed with the kintsugi method cannot be put back into the kiln.

At the end of your time, you'll learn new skills have a whole new appreciation for this one-of-a-kind ancient art. Below are some examples of Kintsugi.
