Like many forms of craft, Quilling can trace its origins back hundreds of years to 15th century France and Italy when it was created to decorate religious objects. Join artist Marjorie for a fun class and create your own decorative piece in this historic art form. Learn the foundations of Quilling including how to roll paper to create leaves, flowers, and other basic shapes. All materials provided.
Marjorie is a Chestertown based artist who was born in California and has been illustrating, painting, and crafting for over 30 years. Her artistic spirit travels from the serenity of fall still life to electric fantasy scenes, yet it always lands in the place she has made her home, Chestertown. Her local art - panoramic in relief, illustrations of town life and family trees - evokes the imagination of the viewer, who, through her art, connects with what Chestertown is, was, and may one day be.
