To help us keep our spaces open while protecting our visitors, staff, and volunteers during the current surge:
Everyone over the age of 2 must wear masks indoors at all RiverArts spaces, regardless of vaccination status. We also ask that you practice good social distancing, especially when gathered indoors for a lengthy period of time, as in a class.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we continue to respond to changing conditions.
Don't hesitate to click here to contact us with any questions or concerns. Our policies and practices are subject to change based on mandates and recommendations from local, state, and federal governments, and guidance from public health authorities. We reserve the right to make decisions based on the needs of our organization, staff, and volunteers.
This pottery course offers students a 6-week intensive workshop for intermediate level wheel throwing with a focus on form and design. Each week you will address new throwing techniques and finishing options. You will discuss aspects and approaches of scale, design, construction, and glazing throughout the process. If you are looking for a skills refresh or just want to expand your ceramics repertoire, this class is for you!
The class will be held at the Clay Studio from 6 - 8:30 pm on Thursdays, running from July 15th through to August 19th.
Included with 6 days of instruction is 25 pounds of studio clay (your choice; excepting porcelain) and 6 Open Studio tickets. If you need a basic pottery toolkit they may be purchased at the Studio for an additional $30.
Please email the Studio manager Chris at chrisneiman@chestertownriverarts.org with any questions.
